“Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.” –Jim Rohn

SO, The average millionaire reads one non-fiction book per month.  Reading books about personal finance really fueled my passion for becoming financially well.  So, from a former non-reader, here is how to start this month.

1. Start with something really good.

Duh.  No I want to start with something terrible.  Kidding.  But I do recommend starting with something that would speak to your personal story or experience.   If you are fresh out of college, I recommend Love Your Life Not Theirs by Rachael Cruze.  If you are living paycheck to paycheck, or cannot make all your monthly payments, start with The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey.  If you are still not sold on the whole debt free thing, and think I am crazy when I say you can set yourself up to become a millionaire in a few short years, then try The Automatic Millionaire by David Bach.  I talk about this book more on the blog.

2. Start with Audio books on your morning commute. OR the Library.

Consider hitting up the local library and getting a library card.  Did you know most libraries offer free e-book loans too?  So you can kindle and read until your little heart is content.

3. Become a proud finance nerd & avid reader.  [If you want to become a millionaire, start living like one]

Happy Reading & Debt Slaying All!
